- Not everyone wants to or can engage in goals of care conversations
- Some people inherently know where they are and do not need to talk about it or drill it home
- Willingness to talk should be honored
- Goals of Care conversations can bring forth strong emotions, especially when information shared is unexpected.
- Go as far as possible in goals and stop when they say they do not want to know more
