Case 1: Do not want to talk

  • Not everyone wants to or can engage in goals of care conversations
    • Some people inherently know where they are and do not need to talk about it or drill it home
  • Willingness to talk should be honored
  • Goals of Care conversations can bring forth strong emotions, especially when information shared is unexpected.
  • Go as far as possible in goals and stop when they say they do not want to know more
